Privacy
Litro has no accounts and doesn’t track you. This page lists everything the site keeps or sends, in plain words.

No accounts, no tracking
You never sign up, so we don’t know who you are. Litro uses no advertising and no third-party trackers. To know how many people use the site, it counts visits with a privacy-friendly analytics service that sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you: it records the page, the referring site, the country and the browser type, and nothing that follows you across sites. Its fonts are served by Litro itself, not by Google.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets one cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, when you pick a language, so it opens in that language next time.
The area you choose for nearby prices, or your location if you use it (to about 10 m, with when it was found and how accurate it was), is kept in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.
Your location
Litro only asks for your location when you choose to use it. Your position is used inside your browser to rank nearby stations and is never sent to us.
To work out road distances, your browser downloads a ready-made file covering an area of about 2 km around you. Our server can see which area’s file was requested, as with any download, but not your exact position.
Hosting and server logs
Like most websites, Litro’s hosting may keep standard access logs: IP address, the page or file requested, the time and the browser type. We don’t use them to identify visitors.
Maps
Maps are loaded from OpenFreeMap. When a map is shown, your browser fetches map tiles from their servers, which see your IP address and the part of the map being shown.
